that's what my new vacuum is! I went shopping again today after seeing Bedtime Stories, which, fyi, is quite good and funny for a kids movie! I was on the search for a Bissell Floormate for my hardwood floors. I have 500 sq feet of hardwood, plus a utility and 2 baths with vinyl. I need a hardfloor cleaner thats not a mop and more powerful than a swiffer wetjet! I didn't find the floormate.. boohoo. I've read its not good for vacuuming anyway, but great on cleaning. I happened upon this weird thing at walmart. Its a Bissell Versus hardfloor vacuum. Um... yay!?! My floors are always covered in something and I find myself sweeping them about 3x a week. Uhhhhhhhhh no fun??? So, I bought it! Brought it home and vacuumed up a bunch of muck! I just swept a couple days ago. It's a little weird to start with its V shaped head, but i got the hang of it. Now I just need my Floormate to clean it!
And in case you are wondering, I did NOT spend Christmas money on this! Uh. no.
On that note, I forgot to show you some cool pressies i got.
My MIL made me this super cool purse. Looks like jeans, huh? Well, that's cuz it is! It is made from a pair of my kids old levis. How cool is that???
And this hand tooled leather wallet is from my FIL. He is just 3 months out from brain surgery from a condition call Essential Tremor which manifests like Parkinson's with the shaking. The surgery, which they inserted probes in his brain and a pacemaker type device in his chest, controls the tremors. Before he could barely pour creamer into his coffee and stir... now he's very steady! Awesome. Anyway... the new one is on the left. The old one he made a few years back, but the zipper broke and he couldn't fix that alone. See how gorgeous they get as they age???

Ooo, I especially love the tooled wallet. That's just gorgeous!! I don't have too much hardwood flooring, but I do have it in the kitchen and my favorite thing is that is doesn't show dirt at all. I vacuum it and we use a hardwood spray cleaner and a dry terry cloth covered mop to buff it.
I wonder if that vaccum would work on tile? I HATE sweeping, and my dd & I both have long hair, so the dust bunnies become pretty ginormous! I'm in love with your purse & wallet, too!! I just love home-made gifts like that!

Tina - after a couple more uses of that vacumn please please tell me how you still like it. We just moved in Aug to our new home and it is about 1700 sq ft of hardwood floors (all 3 bedrooms, hallway, living room and dining room) and tile (both bathrooms, kitchen and the family room which was a garage). I feel like I am constantly sweeping and it is incrediable the amount of dirt I find each day, let alone the dust bunnies. I have been reading online and reviews and haven't found anything I thought would work great. My MIL told me to get a dust mop... did and it collects so much dust it cant sweep anymore. My mom told me to use endust on the floors and we all were slipping for days. I tried towels around the broom. Pretty much everything... so I am deperate to know how you like it. Thanks for sharing...
BTW - the leather wallets are beautiful. My grandfather was a saddlemaker in Montana and he did beautiful stuff like that before he passed away. thanks so showing it.
